I have been working on some things and ideas to bring something like this to life and always loved the mmorpg, however there was never enough resources to make the game however now with universes and other things like pathfinding i’m thinking that the game could be brought to Roblox but I wanna join with 1 or 2 people on a team to make the game cause doing it alone would take a while.
That sounds like something that would get your content deleted, and your account banned. No third party IP on ROBLOX.
Nah, people can do whatever the heck they want until the copyright holder complains about it to ROBLOX corp, and even then you’re just going to get a CD, they normally don’t ban your account for it the first time.
That said, don’t make a game just to copy an existing game, that seems like a wrong mindset.

Why would we want to recreate runescape on ROBLOX if players probably have access to runescape itself? Granted it is a fun game that has a lot of controversial feature and graphic changes, which leaves room for improvement in a remake on ROBLOX, it just wouldn’t make sense making something like runescape on ROBLOX imo
Runescape is successful for several reasons:
-Cutscenes
-Animations
-Compelling battle mechanics in a MOBA system
-Global economy
there are many many other reasons I can’t list without rambling- that being said: Runescape should stay where it is, because a ROBLOX remake would be a whole lot of work for little audience considering if they had access to runescape in the past, they probably have access to it now
If you made a specific outlined idea that wasn’t really a remake but instead just takes pages from runescapes book, PM me, I am a excellent scripter.
I’m not trying to replicate runescape exactly i’m trying to take some of the similar concepts including medieval theme and skill leveling to provide a fun game for the users of Roblox. I am not using the name Runescape at all as well, and you are allowed to have ideas on Roblox related to other games as long as you do not steal graphics or names like using the name Runescape or Runes in your game. I would love to work with you zidmeier if you are a great team member.

Game == universe. Is there a limit to the number of places one game/universe can have under it? No.

bonus question: If I make a central place for a game and then using universe make all of the different game modes different playable universe games, will the total player count of my “central game” be all of the universe games combined?
Yes. If you search up Swordburst Online, it says (at least right now) 319 people are online. If you go to the place’s page and look at the servers there, there are only 11 servers open, most of which are empty. The rest of the people are in sub-places of the universe.

Really? I just liked having tons of stats to level up. When I got bored of building fires, I went and fished. It was cool because whenever you met someone, chances are you were each better at something. Whereas in most MMOs you find, your “level” basically sums up everything about you.

85 Runecrafting 
I feel like Runescape is successful because of it’s limitless grinding, a decent amount of content, and all of the quests. It’s more than a few cutscenes and animations.
Wew, bring on the quests. If they are enjoyable (eh, means not too much grinding and good in terms of context to world and storyline), I’ll waste countless of hours completing them.
Seems like a good project as long as it’s original - though titles such as http://www.roblox.com/games/174687387/Heroes-Legacy-DEV and looking at Rangemelude’s RPGs, it just doesn’t seem to catch the playerbase that much anymore.
Did you have to change the name of your place due to Harry Potter copyright?
There was a specific list of indici that I had to remove from the game, such as “Hogwarts” and the house names and the names of a couple of characters.
