This is a little off topic, but how exactly has the platform “aged up”? I hear a lot about Roblox aging up and what not but nothing they have introduced recently has made such an impact on me.
Aside from the mostly great updates to studio, which makes the platform more attractive to developers, the addition of R15, Rthro or even these animated faces did not age up the platform. Rthro (which is only being used by a really small fraction of the community) aside, these only added more options for an avatar, which is valid. It did not age anything up.
Something R15 did right, however, is they did not stop users from using R6. Why must they remove an older option to add a new one?
If anything, the platform has aged down with the sort of games that are currently popular, compared to years ago. Even with them suggesting we now are allowed to depict more mature content, what good is that? How is that gonna attract anybody older? For the most part, older audiences do not care for whatever is depicted - they want some engaging gameplay.

I don’t really care about all this dynamic heads but the reason I prefer the normal ones is because I can change the shape of my head while keeping the same face. Dynamic heads however is less customizable because you are forced to have a different face if you want a different head.
Also I see the majority of the replies going against the update. I’m more of a neutral kind but I still don’t like where Roblox is heading…

This thread quickly grew past the initial community of the developer forum. And, I’d like to clarify. My issue isn’t with Roblox as a whole. Some staff are doing an amazing job at being transparent and responding to the community. (some paid to do just that and some not.)
This forum is Roblox’s way to communicate with the community, but only some people at Roblox are doing that. Taking a look at the person who made the original post, we can see this is their only public activity:
Getting a response from SegeantBlocky themselves most likely won’t happen. Rather, I’d assume someone from developer relations or another person would respond. (For those unaware, the DevRelations team are the public relations.)
I wouldn’t say that, I don’t doubt they play a role though. It’s the CEOs job to move the company towards a direction. Roblox has the core value of ‘Respecting the community’ but falls short on that goal. (Roblox’s community spans players, developers, shareholders, and employees. I can’t speak on the shareholder or employee part yet.)
I’m not sure anyone is trying to do anything shady or hide anything. They aren’t perfect after all, we all make mistakes. I guess we won’t know for sure until a response is given though.

i don’t think this is a great idea, as i hate the dynamic heads. you shouldn’t just take the unanimated heads off-sale as i think people can use them. you can’t just force people to wear dynamic heads. just have the community have their own opinion.
I thought you guys listen to the roblox community, but i was wrong you don’t. you only care about the metaverse and the future of roblox. I don’t really like the new updates and what is coming to roblox.
this would ruin roblox with the new dynamic heads forcing players to wear or having into their inventory.
this is not roblox anymore. this is now metablox. i am dissapointed to see what the future of roblox is and how it looks like.

The way they’re going about the dynamic heads is super weird to me. It would be cool if they were super customizable, like you would pick a face/preset but you can change the head shape, the default stare, and how expressive they could be. I think the dynamic heads look cool in concept but the main reason I don’t use any of them is cause the faces I like are plastered on the weird heads or they don’t align with my current accessories. The fact they’re pushing these heads in such a early state is super weird to me since it limit’s a user’s creativity when their intention (besides money) is to expand user’s creativity.

At first I thought this was cool, until I read everyone else’s opinions. Please don’t make this camera feature, I don’t want to feel like I’m in RecRoom or something like that.
Also please don’t take the classic faces off sale, this will make a lot of people upset.
Still no word back from roblox yet about this… the main post has 148 likes. and the first reply is at 427 likes about how much the community dislikes this FORCED FEATURE Using your guys new head to respond back to how silent it is on roblox’s end. also 300 robux for a head? sheeeeeeshhhhh 3 dollars for a decal face that can blink. when the original face was 70% less than this price. crazy

the camera feature is not my problem because that is optional like how Voice chat is, my concern is making MOST 2d faces offsale, like, WHY

This is exactly my issue! Plus, the new faces are so expensive!

I think everyone’s opinion can be agreed on one thing: Innovation is okay, but replacing what has always existed is not. I like the idea, but I don’t want to be forced to use it. I am not going to open my camera for this, knowing that any exploiter could access my hardware considering Roblox’s already poor security (let me remind you, Hyperion is getting bypassed incredibly easily). I like the classic faces. I can express my avatar, not my self. I want, and can be, another person in Roblox, and not forced to be my own self.
The only thing I’m actually happy with is that this is a blocky (partially ig) and not Rthro head. Imagine if Roblox made that decision.

And the problem is you can only use this shape if you want to use the face. 300 Robux is too much considering the fact it’s less customizable than the classic ones.
Come to find out someone sitting at roblox just watching people’s cameras all day long. that would be scary. Is that what this is about? some creepy dude just wanted access to be able to see kids cameras all day long? Might want to get some better shareholders cause this stuff is actually creepy like in all reality. Mom to son: GET CLOTHES ON BEFORE U GET ONTO ROBLOX THEY WATCHING YOU.
