Super happy fun face bouta turn into Super Happy fart face and drop 100k robux within a day.
the creator of this thread is an intern, he is just a victim in this as well. Look at his roblox account he doesnt even have the “Administrator” Badge. just an intern forced to do roblox’s dirty work COMPLETE DISRESPECT they didnt have the nerve to post it as the person who had the idea. this intern is just the fall guy for it. Which is REALLY REALLY DISRESPECTFUL and ROBLOX IS JUST TRASH for doing it.
One thing I haven’t seen brought up is that UGC creators cannot make animated heads/faces, and it is probably a complicated process that needs a specialist. Granted, the only way to make a UGC “face” was by extruding an image and hoping the user has a faceless mask lying around, but why is Roblox locking true facial expressions behind whatever Roblox happened to release >5 years ago? Wouldn’t going the opposite direction be much better?
Animated faces as they are currently are a waste of server resources, and I’ve tried using them. In most games that aren’t hangouts they are flat out unnecessary. If I’m doing an obby or adventure game I will probably never be looking at my face anyway, so it doesn’t make sense to spend countless CPU cycles each render frame moving it. If a game currently doesn’t support animated faces, it may break if they are forced on.
The 5G dance emote’s facial animation features a lot of stuttering with the eyes closing and opening rapidly. I don’t know if you used AI or whatever for that one but you’re going to have to fix it. I’m sure it’s not the only one with botched, added-after-the-fact facial animations. Some of them don’t have facial animations at all.
I’m not one of those people that is super stubborn about “Old Roblox”, so when I tried the animated heads out, I was pretty indifferent. I even used them on one whole outfit! Offsaling legacy (good) faces and essentially deprecating them pushed me far over the line, and makes animated faces a symbol of Roblox taking away options rather than adding new ones.
Please reconsider.
If you’ve read the internal document leaks from last year, then you’ll know that the corporation has planned on “sunsetting R6” for a while. Not sure how anyone is suprised at that. When the corporation speaks of “preserving the blocky aesthetic”, they do not mean R6 at all. Like it’s obvious for a reason. Layered clothing doesn’t work on R6, they literally hid the R6 toggle in the avatar editor, and the new dynFaces don’t like their original in R6. Its pretty clear they’ve given up on R6/15 compatibility, just look at what happens to the newest rthro bundles when you use them in R6 (just makes it blocky). What I suspect is that the corporation is going to deprecate R6 tech altogether and replace it with an R15 emulator beCaUSe r6 tECh iS hOLDinG tHe pLatFoRM BaCk.
I think this answered my question about legacy packages that are missing heads! Looking forward to seeing my package & many others update
The biggest issue about dynamic faces is the odd placement and the fact they’re more expensive than the rest of the customization. I’ll include the fact this makes one of my avatars COMPLETELY EXPRESSIONLESS on R6.
If they we’re a 1:1 recreation and not looking awfully odd, this would be actually somewhat beneficial. But these alternatives provided by making classic faces offsale really doesn’t bring any benefit at all, and seeing by FAQ, there is very little reason to make them offsale. This is user’s choice to pick 2023 faces or classic ones.
Roblox, think about what are you even doing! There really is no reason for forcing new faces to new players or those who want to purchase one. These new faces do not fit and in the worst case scenario, do not work with R6 at all, as it’s stuck in this face 24/7. There’s just not enough reason why you’d sunset classic faces.
We want it to be OPTIONAL, NOT FORCED.
They put an intern on the job??? Imagine its your first day, assumably unpaid, and you have to post one of the most controversial updates onto the dev forum. And even worse no one assists you with it. Just sad on roblox’s part.
id really suggest you read some of the replies to this thread and change your stance
roblox biggest supporters on the line! go!
dude what face is that even meant to be
Please, for the love of god stop releasing half-baked updates like this which will connect with planned updates that may not come until years into the future. Classic faces should be kept onsale for all new users to use until dynamic faces allow you to change the head shape to whatever you desire and until full R6 support is added for dynamic faces.
If a new user registers during this period between the faces going offsale and R6 support being added, they will be denied the ability to wear the Man face with an R6 avatar, causing a great inconvenience. Please, revert this decision until Dynamic Heads are fully ready to replace Classic Heads, including the ability to freeze the face in one pose a la classic faces.
This is Check It. I used an emote to see what it would look like.
Uhmm, I thought the original “Check It” face would look uncanny enough. Staffs should at the very least, review the appearances of these dynamic faces before actually publishing them…
meanwhile my avatar looks completely dead inside
this is supposed to be “Face of Disapproval” (or replacement of “Err…” face
peak feature ngl
(excuse dead sleep schedule)
Nightmare fuel on R15, broken on R6. Definitely ready for production.
this was the perfect time to buy roblox limited faces. wish me luck when these things start getting remastered
(seriously why does roblox keep kicking traders in the crotch)
Uhm won’t these get converted to dynamic heads
I just really wanna see how Roblox is gonna migrate the limiteds to animated. I just wanna sit back and watch this crap unfold.
