good lord, this comment section is hot flaming pile of garbage, as if Rthro and layered clothing wasn’t blunderous enough for Roblox.
let alone classic heads and faces, seriously, please. I dislike this update because the piece of Roblox’s history and culture is being erased with ludicurously controversial updates like these. let players decide their avatar choices and preferred styles, but not when we are FORCED to do so and with our Robux at extra cost.
Will the equivalent classic head be bundled with the dynamic head when bought (which would somewhat justify the increased prices of many dynamic heads), or will they just remain offsale forever?
As far as I can see, it won’t really do so (decrease the value of faces). It just adds the ability to express emotions. All faces would most likely get a dynamic head counterpart.
I personally have no problem with animated faces as i’m sure a lot of other people would agree, however removing classic faces is just stupid, there are absolutely no downsides of keeping classic faces alongside the animated ones.
Another problem I have with this is that some classic faces being replaced by the animated faces are much more expensive or are just not free anymore, the chill face was a very popular face widely used among new players and the community in general and now that option is taken away from brand new players as now the animated version costs 120 robux, another example is the err face it was around 70 robux and is now 300, there are plenty more faces with drastic price differences and I imagine as the other faces are slowly replaced by the animated ones we could see more price changes.
Roblox says they are all about player expression but they are removing classic faces that have been around since the late 2000s and not everyone will want to use the animated faces so the classic faces should still be an option, it seems like its restricting player expression.
TL;DR This is not a great change and should definitely be re considered, over 1000 replies in 3 days is saying something.
That’s why we’re all complaining, we want the classic faces to still be there, but it seems like we’re getting ignored, and probably the fact they’ll have access to our camera
I know this might seem like a rushed complaint about the update, but this is a genuine concern. What was the reason for plenty of free faces being taken offsale?
I dont get why they would want to force us to use something different. Everyone has a different sense of fashion, and we should be able to wear what we want.
Because Roblox wants to push users into using more realistic avatars. It has been the gist ever since they introduced features like layered clothing, or even the first release of dynamic heads.
[ Not to say that these features were bad, but the decisions to push Players to use certain “realistic” features caused a lot of backlash. ]
exactly everyone’s point, however i see some are disagreeing with the whole update altogether, it is a good update, however, 2d faces SHOULD NOT be offsale, nor should the 3d versions be at a higher price, especially those that were free, I aint wanna buy a face that was once free
and yes they promised, they would NEVER REMOVE 2D clothes or faces, yet, they proved us wrong right now, removing only the MOST popular faces on earth
this update overall in terms of 3d faces isnt bad, because some of yall wearing valks and headless needs some creativity, and the camera feature is optional, however you will be kind of forced to wear 3d heads if you hardly have any 2d faces
I understand that the professional marketers, and whoever made this decision, but this is stupid, they gotta hire me, I’ll make better updates, and clarify them without wording them confusingly
True. Then again, Roblox is fairly aware that this update is going to stir up dissatisfaction within the community.
Some people already pointed out that this topic got shadowed, causing the topic to be hidden within a glance of latest topics in #updates:announcements .
It’s not confusing, but it’s just the fact that they worded it vaguely, so users can’t accuse staffs of acknowledging themselves that certain decisions Roblox made were causing drama.
Well after thinking about it, there is no way these ‘animated heads’ are going to use less performance than the classic heads. Even if they are controlled via client, they will still be moving mesh faces on other peoples clients which that client will have to render. So basically the more players in a singular game, the more taxxing it will be. So this again just further handicaps developers as another thing they will have to consider with player count. Honestly they should just remove R6, Remove Rthro, Remove anything thats not the “Meta” theme, and see how many players remain on the platform, I love a good game of chicken. If we could just fastforward to that moment I think everything would play itself out.
And for a lot of people saying its about money?? its really not. I seen this article explaining that in 2021 the CEO of roblox was the 7th HIGHEST PAID CEO, so as far as money goes, they have plenty. It’s roblox. it’s their game. they will do whatever they want to do regardless. So let them do it. Do i feel like they should respect the userbase? absolutely. did facebook lose a bunch of money to this whole meta scheme? absolutely. does messing around equate to finding out? ABSO-LUTELY.
