Weird flashlight bug

every part in the flashlight casts no shadow, only one part should cast a shadow and thats a union to create this ring effect, though as seen in picture 2 once i play the flashlight is all broken with no ring to be seen and random other parts infront of the light

what it is while making it:

what it is while playing:

Edit: also realised that when playing but not holding it myself it works just fine… what is this

All unions are set to precise in properties, anything else it could be?

I also noticed this in one of my games, it didn’t happen before and I can’t fix it, might be a bug

Any other work around you did? it worked fine the first time i did it, second time i tested it completely broke and now its been this since then.

there is no workaround I could do.

i guess a flashlight without the fun little circle would do… maybe

i found a workaround, i used one of those standard roblox flashlight meshes which have the circle build in, put that in my build flashlight and put the spotlight inside the mesh

What is the ‘star’ shaped effect at the lens of the light while you are holding it?
The 2 pictures of the light in your hand with extra shadows have small wedges of yellow at the top and rh sides but in the other 2 ‘ring shadow’ pictures they aren’t there.

I’m presuming thats what the issue is as well, cause future lighting with “Shadows Enabled” decals do have an effect on the light, I’m not sure what setup he has exactly for the flashlight but that could also be playing a part in it.

I haven’t seen that before. Do decals even have a Shadows option?

Post this in building / scripting support
