Weird glitch when animating

I built a rig that I intended to animate. I’m pretty sure I set up all the welds and joints correctly, yet there is this issue. Once I select the rig with the animation editor and try to rotate a part, the part instead teleports to a position under the rig. This doesn’t seem like a common issue and I couldn’t find any solutions elsewhere.

My biggest suspicion was that it had something to do with anchoring/unanchoring certain parts but that didn’t work

(Example of the problem: I will try to rotate the right shoulder on the Y-axis and, instead of rotating, the shoulder will move to a position under or to the side of the rig. I cannot move it back because it teleports back to that position underneath the rig.)

I think this happens because the center of your the mesh isn’t set properly
for example lets pretend like the cylender below is a mesh

This is how its supposed to be:

This is how your mesh may be:

If by chance this is not the issue then you can try a ready to use rig from the toolbox for your animations!

Okay, that is the problem. Do you know how i would fix it? (Sorry im pretty new to rigging and animating, so this may be a dumb question)

What type of rig is it?
is it a custom rig made in blender?
or is it just an r6/r15 rig?

its just an r6 or r15 (not exactly sure which) but it was made completely in roblox studio

This is an r6 rig:

This is an r15 rig:

Which one are you using?

it’s an r15 rig, thanks btw :+1:

Alright let’s rebuild your rig again.

In the avatar tab in studio click on the rig builder button.

Next choose the type of rig you want and pick one of the options below, if you want a rig like the one i sent in the picture then click on block avatar, if you want to test it on your roblox avatar then click on my avatar.

After that just pull the animation editor if you’re planning to use the default roblox animator and start animating!
