Welcome to Cloud Apps: share your creative solutions here!

Hi Creators,

We’re excited to announce the opening of the Cloud Apps subcategory under the Help and Feedback category in DevForum. We were driven to create this new Cloud Apps section because of all the amazing cloud tools and solutions - from player community management to developer productivity - being built by the creator community using Open Cloud.

Cloud Apps will be the new home for all 3rd-Party App related Q&A, discussion and feedback. This will help centralize these discussions that historically have taken place inconsistently across the forum and elsewhere.

Example topics include:

  • “Here’s a guide for writing an OAuth 2.0 app on Firebase”
  • “Help, I can’t get OAuth 2.0 working”
  • “I built this fun OAuth 2.0 app for users, here’s how I did it”
  • “I’m working on a new OAuth 2.0 app for users, please give feedback/help me figure out how to do X”.

More details on Cloud APIs and OAuth 2.0 can be viewed in Creator Hub here.

Let us know if you have any feedback below.

Thanks,
The Open Cloud Team

FAQ

What’s the difference between scripting support and this new category if I have a web programming question?

This category is for you to share solutions that you have made and would be valuable to the larger community. You may also make requests in this category on app solutions you would like to see.

How do I decide between the existing community tutorials category and this one?

Tutorials are great educational content and should remain where they are. For this category, it is about packaged app solutions with the goal of solving for something, but not necessarily educating, i.e. the solution is largely invisible to the user.

These would go in #resources:community-tutorials in my opinion, since it’s educating users on how to make it, and that’s the reason that is a category.

Hi sillygoober,

That’s very perceptive of you and thank you for sharing your opinion. Tutorials on how to build or program something for an experience should continue in the community tutorials section. The intent of Cloud Apps is for packaged solutions (or how to build a packaged solution) to be shared. I recognize that the distinction is very thin, so as we observe how the community will use this section, we may adjust in the future. In the meantime, if you have a packaged solution that you would like to share, please do post here :grinning:

Cheers,
