Welcoming Byfron to Roblox

This was much needed. However, my only concern is that “exploiters/cheaters” will create new accounts to bypass an anti-cheat ban. This has been a problem in games as developers have no access to things like IP bans. With this anti-cheat I am hoping something like an ip-ban or at least blocking access of making new accounts for a few days. However, except from these things it is looking promising and I am excited to see where this goes. Welcome Bryfron!

isnt it still good to learn that stuff tho? incase… exploiters somehow bypasss it

All I have to say is…

Thank you Roblox.

IP Bans, are not possible, if they were, then anyone on that IP would also get banned for no reason, it would be a mess

The anticheat hasn’t even be implemented yet lol
Are the sources from Synapse developers or just some random users?

It’s almost like an IP ban is meant to do that. Who would’ve known!

Probably since nobody confirmed this yet.

Roblox has been on quite an acquisition spree lately. Now who’s next? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Roblox has done it in the past. It is possible and it is common knowledge every person on that IP will be banned. This should hopefully stop people from cheating as currently there is no system in place or any type of punishment. Obviously cheaters should not get IP banned straight away and I do believe there should be a system in place for example: First offence: banned for a few days, Second offence: etc, etc, etc.

 , by ip do you mean the IPS? if so, then anyone else on that IP would also be banned

website ip bans are possible however, global server IP bans are a whole diff thing

It’s gonna be great knowing prison life and other old games will actually be playable again

Right, my fault. I should’ve been more specific. When I mentioned “ip-bans” I was referring to website IP bans.

I would lean towards HWID bans.

HWIDs can also be easily changed with software

As a former exploit developer, I want to say that Byron will never be able to ultimately stop exploiting developers. Sure, it’ll improve on dll injection detection, which will technically ban some people. But exploit developers will manage to find ways around these things considering they know almost as much as these developers at Byfron do.

TL;DR: I am a former exploit developer Byron will never be able to completely stop exploiters, but it’ll help minimize exploiters if Roblox knows what they’re investing in.
