It’s not released yet but Byfrons AC has already been fully cracked, I believe it’s current state isn’t as secure as Robloxes own AC is. However the one specifically (for the blocky game) hasn’t been released so we don’t know yet.
However some of the Byfron ACs use very simple obfuscation techniques so I’m not sure how optimistic I feel about it
It’s more of an issue for GNATted IP addresses. Which means that one ISP assigns the same IP to thousands of people and rotates the owners of the IP address, which may lead to false bans.
GNATted IPs are today very common due to how the internet infrastructure works.
I would say instead of using IP to connect alts, but more of using HWID and HWID bans, this can prevent false bans from dhcp and public IPs. Even your siblings shouldn’t be punished for your actions (if they have their own computers)
It will probably affect physics cheats most (which will most likely {hopefully} get patched).
However most likely Synapse and DEX will most likely not be effected much. But physics and other exploits which affect the server will become harder, and possibly (hopefully) patched.
It’s also likely that some exploits which are less advanced will get patched for good.
HWID and MAC address bans are trivial to bypass so yeah. Also Hyperion doesn’t run on the kernel level but on the application privlige level which makes hooking the kernel calls to derive the HWID very easy and nearly undetectable.
I don’t think accidentally banning siblings is a valid concern though, it’s such a small niche probability. However possibly library and school computers might be a possible concern.
They no longer have the Error 0x1. I believe the application just closes (or maybe now it kicks due to an error on the player client, and results in a login error in studio, not sure).
I believe they have both heurestic bans and deliberate Okta modpanel bans, though I’m not exactly sure of their exact effects as they are a bit of a mystery.
With this being something in the future, I’d love to see the return or a revamp of guests.
Hacking wouldn’t be as much of an issue, letting developers toggle this option, letting people without an account play their games, would open the door to more people playing Roblox. Many are hesitant to creating an account to play, from my experience at least.
Anyways, many games are plagued with hackers and this addition to Roblox would allow me to enjoy competitive games on Roblox more.
I think this will be a significant update and resource for developers if given the correct amount of control. Without control over this service could have some negative comments about Byfron.
Roblox has only acquired Byfron looking at the post and their website. Nothing was mentioned about it already being implemented, just that they bought them and are going to fast track implementation.
