Welded Parts make character act weird while in the air

I’m making a battlegrounds game, and to register left mouse button, I clone a hitbox infront of the player, and weld it to the humanoid root part.

This works fine if you’re on the ground, but it makes the character act weird while in the air.

Example:

(Throughout the entire video, I was holding down space and S, not moving from side to side myself.)

Do you have cancollide turned on, if so, turn it off.

Yes, both can collide and massless are set to false.

try welding it to the torso and see if that would work
