Wet roads (Kinda?)

After doing some research I found out you can make realistic/wet roads by tampering with terrain and adding water slightly above a brick. What do you guys think? Personally I think it’s decent but it may be a little too much. Unfortunately I can’t make it less intense but I think this is the best it can get, not too shabby. The picture doesn’t do too much justice so I attached a video of me walking around and driving so you can get a better view.

I apologize, I accidentally added this to the wrong subforum. If someone can move this to the right place I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you edit your post, you can actually change the location of the post, near the top of the text editor.

Regardless, I think it looks really really good. I’m a huge sucker for detail and this sated me. Stunning.

wet? man this looks like it’s being flooded!
i suggest putting the post in #help-and-feedback:cool-creations and using the water in blotches (that way it tones down that sort of stuff immensely)
you can alteranitvely make it a high-poly part in blender and put some indents, then adjusting it so it looks like water-filled pot holes

eh sorta i would not say its a wet road. Maybe have not that much water?

I really like the concept you are going for here, but it looks like the road is underwater. I’m not really sure how to make a road look wet, as I am not a scripter or builder really.

Haha thanks for the feedback everyone. It may look flooded to you but this is hurricane road weather :stuck_out_tongue: all jokes aside I’ll figure out how to make it less flooded, I can continue to tamper with it.

Looks nice, but I’d say it’s a little too wet. Pretty cool creation though!

Wow! Very nice @LoIMeLol! That is very innovative! However, in my opinion it is a little too wet, however, if the scene were supposed to be flooded (like in a hurricane or large storm), then I would say it looks amazing. Also, you should add some rain to the scene, I think it would definitely help with the look you are going for.

I think it looks pretty realistic! I think the issue that makes the road look too wet is that the water is distorting the lines on the road. If you can figure out how to make the lines look normal while keeping the reflection, it should be :ok_hand::expressionless::hand:

That looks like your just driving on water

I honestly think it looks great. I would add an effect to the wheels that kinda shows water splashing off them while driving through the water to make it the most realistic.

Looks like a Flash flood is in effect! It looks a bit to wet, but I’m loving the water so far. Keep up the good work!

It looks so realistic, I like how the road reflects!

I would remove some of that water, it looks like a car slip and slide!

Looks realistic, but tone down the water.

Too much water on roads doesn’t make it realistic, unless it’s a complete storm, it looks like the road is completely flooded. You should just tone down and do puddles across the road, here and there.

I see what you’re going for though. :+1:

I’ve tried everything and it simply doesn’t make any difference at all. I think someone with more experience and knowledge can make this work perfectly.

This looks like a flooded road, if its a flooded road its so amazing!
