What are some good, unique ideas to add to an SCP game?

Me and another developer are currently trying to make a better SCP roleplaying site than usual, and we’d love to hear some feedback from the community to decide what good ideas we should add to stick out from the crowd and not be another bland SCP site game. If you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them!

You should have there be tasks such as performing experiments on the SCP’s and having a chance of them breaking out without just being let out.

Maybe a proper event system? A major flaw I see with most scp games is it is mostly player based if “funny haha everyone dies” event happens or not, and the players are stupid, never trust the players to do anything whatsoever. So what i mean by this is event a (lets say chaos raid) has a 1/15 chance of happening every day or every 20 mins, players can chose to join event but there is a player cap. Something like that

Another thing already stated by ZooWeeMama is a better experimental system that doesn’t rely as much on the players because as always, they are stupid.

We could find SCP in the city map or other. Take them to prison. Defend prison.

Love the ideas! We will try to implement some of them by release.

Put more emphasis on tasks to be complete in the foundation and less emphasis on “Break SCP kill 05” or “Break Class D out Kill all MTF”. Add GOIs I see them under used a lot in SCP games. e.g. Serpants Hand or Church of Broken God

Make doing jobs around the facility fun and actually accomplish something. Also, if you really want to go the extra mile you can have people run the foundation so that if a job is not done the system might brake (A good example of this in action is work at pizza place)

Of course what many SCP games already do is have good places for people to stand in a safe place and communicate with others allow CD to chat with guards without the guards being targeted all the time by Chaos Insurgents. Try to make sure the entire map is used often and make social places too.

Finally put some obscure SCPs and make it so that players have to test the SCPs to find out what they can do. A good example of a test SCP is 914 where a player has to find items in the facility and then test it with the machine to see what happens.

Obscure and lesser-known SCPs are a must. Don’t just stick to 173, 106, 682, 049, 035, etc. Add some cooler things, even just the inanimate ones. Going for 4-digit scps could be interesting (though, a chunk of them tend to devolve into narrative-mumbo that makes it hard to understand)

Try anomalous events, for example, SCP-1730: It’s long in terms of it’s article, but it would really be a cool addition. Just a warning though, this one’s fundamentally an abandoned Foundation site with its own anomalies so building it may take a long time. Others could include random containment breaches, SCP-354 instances, SCP-610/008 outbreaks and GoI breaches (Chaos Insurgency and Serpent’s Hand are most suitable)

Additionally, allow some more testing, like that one SCP object (can’t remember, but it caused people to want to test it a lot for disastrous results), and even better, allowing people to do termination attempts on 682 would be a nice feature.

Oh, and while I do know that this is a Roleplaying Game, try add a few spots to give Class-D personnel a chance to escape without buying anything or dying as soon as they cross the “red line”, such as some keycard/weapon that spawns every few moments.
