What are you working on currently? (2017)

I’ve been working on a game lobby for the past 4 days, I honestly think it turned out very well!

It’s very pretty but I wouldn’t wanna play that in fullscreen for more than a few seconds. My eyes >_<

true

rip, is it the neon?

Looks curiously similar to the Super Bomb Survival lobby to me.

I actually got inspired after seeing PBB’s arcade leak

I use it in my btd test server, works most of the time pretty well
only every now and then when the character dies, the parts explode like they usually do before magnetically snapping back together and ragdolling

Making some items for The Plaza since I haven’t added any items to it in like 4 months.

(As you can see theres a music theme going on with these items lmao)

Diner exterior’s done, I’ve allowed room for adding an interior eventually, but that’s not going to be until I figure out a design.

Maybe decreasing the Brightness on llighting would help ?

That is not the work of someone who’s been taking 3D modeling courses for a year.

Well, if you count Roblox it’s been like 4 years since this haha. 2012/13 was when I started building properly on Roblox with the intent to join EBR  (I failed that task cause now I don’t have enough time to make a full showcase :frowning: )

But also our Uni course only started 6 months ago. (and only a quarter of it is 3D modelling)

(4 years later, still love cylindrical architecture)

r6?

R15, but the armour isn’t finished. We have yet to rig it up and test, then go back and improve for R15.

I finally added some palm trees. Or, well, re-arranged free models. The re-arangement’s all mine, the unions however… Eh, Feels a little bit lazy to me personally, but nature’s not exactly my strong point.

It’s not L.A. without palm trees every five feet.

The first shot might be semi-achievable in Roblox… And yeah I’m working on it.

Can confirm that it is, in fact, semi-achievable in ROBLOX:

EDIT: lol, nice gfycat ID I just noticed

Since last post:

  • Proper modularization, every separate instance is now an object that you can manipulate
  • Auto throttling of update rate based on FPS
  • ~20% speed increase
  • Fixed inter-object sorting when moving camera
  • Able to set custom start / end point, custom color that determines the arc colors, custom amount of arcs per object
  • Implemented efficient methods for translating, transforming (rotating+translating), and “welding” the effect between two loose parts
  • Method to enable/disable effect on the fly

Some fun use cases I thought of apart from decoration purposes:

  • Shoot electricity from your fingertips at wherever your mouse is pointed
    (@MasterOfTheElements taunt taunt ;))
  • Electric fences that you can’t get past until you hit a button/lever/whatever.
  • A good-looking alternative to lava bricks in obstacle courses (either static/moving)

Few more things to fix but then I’m calling it done…
