and what do you know, it worked!
it works on the idea that, no matter where you turn the camera, the controls will always be in the same relative spot.
however this comes with the disadvantage that if you want to move a lever you have to look away from the tracks…

hey guys i have a question regarding that last post comparing the smooth car and the low poly car
apparently some people think that the smooth car doesnt fit in a low poly environment
would this smooth shaded car still look blendable with the environment?
or would a flat shaded low poly vehicle body work better?
Smooth car looks better. But low poly style car suits the environment better. Personally I’d go with the low poly car as consistency in style is more important in my opinion. The low poly version still looks great so you’re not losing out by using it.
I actually don’t use Boolean, and if anything ngons are actually a good thing (of course if you’re using sub surf). It’s better to have ngons than triangles, it just gives you overall cleaner shape.
