This is actually super cool, might give it a try.
That is some amazing renders. Hats off to you for those. Now how about getting that kind of shiney body paintjob in roblox? (You’ll have to bake the highlights into the texture)
Dang, I’m jelly in a good way of that. Very good job.
@third448 Ayyyyyye you’re in the developer family now, welcome pal.
I do have some sort of lighting hack for glossy reflections, but it doesn’t look as good, lol. (pls add shaders Roblox ;-; )
starts working on a 5 page long feature request
Congrats on completing the roadster btw, it looks even more appealing than the original
I just had to manually port like 100 models from the Source Engine.
The payoff was totally worth it though !
P.S. This is on production, not future-is-bright.
You can check it out here: Canals - Roblox
Heres your next challenge.
Load a mesh with a texture.
Congrats on completing the roadster, it looks beautiful. If you want help in programming a plaid screen animation for plaid launches I can be of assistance.
Once I figure out a few more visual and sound effects, fix up the camera, and polish up the physics calculations, my F-Zero clone will be complete in its most basic form.
Oh, and an actual race system, almost forgot. Still gotta do that.
Man there are a lot of people making racing games right now.
I hope this genre takes off, its been pretty barren for awhile now.
They’re a litttle tricky to pull off with the network lag between clients. Volt was a nightmare to create because players are sometimes not where they appear to be on fast moving vehicles.
With that said, I’d love some racing games.
I wanted to do a Mario Kart-esque racer this summer but had a super hard time getting the vehicle physics to be anything good.
Implemented the boss fight system into testing place and made it look aesthetic!
I just noticed that you put the game’s title on top of the screen. At first i thought i was a bit unnecessary but it would be really useful when youtubers record footage without crediting the game.
I don’t know what youtubers do that every youtuber credits the game what are you talking about this is a conspiracy surely #subscribetodenis
Wouldn’t that effect be better suited for trails?
If I use trails, I lose the ability to alter the position of each point in the streamer every frame, which is what I’m doing to create the random appearance of each streamer.
It might not be very efficient, and there are some breaks in the streamer, but it gives me almost exactly the effect I want while still being less render-intensive than using parts, the only other alternative I can think of.
What a beauty. Thank you!
