What are you working on currently? (2017)

ahh thats why. For a second I thought you found a hacky way to make it look shader-like.

Oh, trust me I wish

This really isn’t how to perform data storage.

Here are some good topics you should read into:

Not really Roblox-related, but I feel like it’s worth mentioning.

After 19 years of school, I just finished the last exam 10 minutes ago.

  • Pre-school + Kindergarten (3, yes I was in pre-school for 2 years, don’t judge me)
  • Public school (12 years)
  • Community college + University (4.5 years)

Now all you will have are the mind-numbing training exams for work.

hows your masters thesis?

So far I’m 14 pages in.

It’s on the disparities between the rich and poor players of Roblox, and the ever-growing divide between the two classes as Tix have been removed and we move toward a Roblox society where virtual goods are present on players as a sign of both economic and social variations of status and prowess.

Very excited to start work on this certain project…

Using an evolutionary algorithm to produce a quadruped with a fast gait.

How fast does learning take? I’m about to start something similar and this looks pretty neato.

The most time consuming part was to implement the algorithm, create a base rig and parametrize the gait. You’ll need to help it at the beginning with a reasonable initial walking gait. I think it would be too hard for the natural selection to start with just random leg motion. Use selection and mutation. I also use gene swapping between successful pairs from previous generations. I run 12 geckos at the same time and score them based on their speed and ability to stay in the center of the track. It takes a few hours to get a reasonable gait.

Neato! I wanna do self-driving cars then a tiger next using evolving networks so your project really interests me.

I’m working on mini-project right now that let’s me run multiple studio instances to maximize CPU usage.

Currently I use this for rendering but soon I’ll use it for training AI. End goal is to train them okay-ish on my PC, then release them and have tens of thousands of them train on each player’s client in a game. After a bit I’m gonna build it IRL and have it go get my mail.

I’ll give you 3 Lego pieces if you put me in this game as a boss or something :heart:
