Really cool game! I’ve been also working on a sandbox game like that! Although I can’t show anything yet as there is a bunch of features I haven’t added. Keep up the good work bro!

Woah, I love that font! Can you please tell me the name of that font? Also I don’t think your UI is bad, it is pretty decent!

Project Magical Mary: Skin Tones

It’s nothing major (and isn’t something that I can really make use of since my experience doesn’t have its character editor yet), but here are two “gradient swatches”/ranges that could be used when the player’s picking their skin tone.
image
The second gradient ran into the 20-keypoint limit that ColorSequences have (which I didn’t know about until today), but it still looks fine.
I think it would work like in Sims 3, where you use a slider to pick your sim’s skin tone, able to choose from a handful of gradients.

Are my ranges diverse enough? My own characters would only use skin tones between the second and fourth points in the first gradient, but I think the extra areas beyond that range seem good.

I think using sliders for skin tones is better than, say, Royale High’s swatches, which remind me of Sims 2. I’m assuming the paintbrush button opens their color picker, which is probably even better for players that needed a specific skin tone that isn’t in the list, but sliders are the second-best option for me.

(This is a screenshot of Royale High.)

A Minor Utility Update

It seemed like it would be a good idea to go ahead and account for this limit in my ColorSequence & NumberSequence String Parsing Utility. Now, if a sequence is detected as using 21 or more points, a specific error will be shown.

How does the 20-point gradient look in the utility?

Since this is a ColorSequence, those that remember my ColorSequence & NumberSequence Parsing Utility may wonder what this 20-point gradient would look like if I imported it into it. Well, here it is; Isn’t it pretty?

And here’s the details it outputs about the gradient:

This is a ColorSequence with 20 points.

I’ve working on Super Build Race a 2D game just like the game Ultimate Chicken Horse, the game is mostly done, I still want to build more contraptions and maps, but other than that it’s pretty much good to go, just got to figure out how to get it jump started. I’ve had a lot of fun playing it with siblings and friends, so hopefully it will be fun for others.
