I only like Low Poly Terrain Creator and possibly Terrain Mesher (haven’t tried it out yet) because manually creating triangle terrain especially in 512x512 size scenarios is a pain.
Edit: Actually I don’t like any of these plugins. (Besides Terrain Mesher)
Low Poly Terrain Creator is a performance nightmare especially when generating. 500x500 terrain shouldn’t be over a bajillion tris. Also any form of editing the terrain creates noticeable lines on all Graphic Levels.
Also just generating it and looking at it gave me over 11,000 MB of memory usage.
I haven’t used triangle terrain in a while, but I just remember the main issue was just trying to make it look clean. Like in BullfrogBait’s post you can see cracks in the terrain. I just remember no matter how hard I tried it was very annoying to try to get the cracks to not show with any of these plugins.
If you want to make triangle terrain or just the typical low poly terrain look, then just use blender. You can make it faster and get better performance, but also just use vertex paint to help design the color. It’s very easy to do. Vertex Painting is where you paint the mesh, so if you import it into ROBLOX you can change the material and color still. I actually use it to make fake AO or for wood I’ll make it look like a texture.
