What can I add into the center of this thumbnail to have less empty space?

This is a thumbnail for a military group’s base I’m in. I’m pretty happy with what I have so far, but the center definitely looks too empty. Any suggestions? The group doesn’t have an “official” logo yet, so I can’t add that in.

Edit: Thanks to everyone who suggested things! As soon as we get a logo, I’ll definitely incorporate it into the thumbnail.

Maybe two swords crossing each other with a red background?

Come up with a logo icon, as in something that represents the group. You can make swords, explosions, etc. - just anything that will truly represent the group.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll ask the owner of the group for his opinions on a logo, such as crossed swords.

you have a pretty pretty miniature in general if you want to military theme you should add a weapon in the background or swords with that it would be pretty cool

I’d recommend putting the text on a background or around a render of some sort to give it some visual flair. 5 minute edit below.

Once you find out what the actual logo is, you can put it somewhere on the thumbnail (e.g. behind the text, at the top or bottom, etc).

As most of the replies already says I agree that you could put a logo on that place.

It would be a good idea to put the text in the middle. It naturally reduces the feeling of emptiness by halving the empty space on each side (instead of having one big chunk in the middle).

If you don’t have additional content (such as renders, screenshots or logos) then you can just make do with what you have – in this case, you might not actually need to do that much. It will look good (but maybe a little plain) if you simply put the text in the middle without changing the background, or if you add a a nice subtle gradient or pattern in the background. You can do this by hand, or by finding free images online.

A good way to make interesting designs is just to play around with different tools and ideas that you have
