From my point of view, I don’t see why Roblox should foist these requests upon developers without providing any tools for handling them effectively. Truthfully it makes it seem like they do not care, themselves. And what message does that send to developers? Well, the OP’s initial impression of these requests tells the whole story.
It would save every developer who has ever received one of these requests a lot of hassle if Roblox automated the process by allowing your game to automatically respond to these requests in a fashion of your choosing.
If I must implement a custom way of deleting their data from my datastores, so be it, but no developer wants to be bothered multiple times a day to enter the IDs from these requests manually. It desperately needs to be automated.
Yeah giving us the tools to handle this would be very helpful. As for now all you can do is suck it up, and deal with it. I don’t understand how this is on us to do, but I accept that we have to do this. After all if Roblox did this as well for us we’d just be getting spoiled at this point.
But yeah tools would be handy I agree on that one chief.
A UserId tells us developers absolutely nothing about a person’s identity, nor can we extract that information from Roblox using the API. Roblox does not even allow developers to collect that sort of information in the first place, so I would hardly consider Roblox servicing their own international contractual obligations as spoiling us.
That’s not exactly the point I was trying to make, but alright. It’s not really that much of a problem to me so I don’t care all that much. But I do agree on Roblox providing more useful tools to do this, as it is a little bit annoying to do.
That’s possible, but doing that all the time for removing data is really frustrating and time-taking, Roblox should implement something to remove this way easier, so we don’t need to keep doing that, or rather just remove it by themselves.
I truly don’t know how top popular games are able to keep up with the sheer volume of requests
I just assume that they don’t really care or take any actions, since I usually hear people say it’s not an huge deal. But as many people here disagree with that. Afaik few of my friends games which have like 2k+ actives get like alot of these messages which they don’t care about.
