So instead of just giving this build to a friend im just gonna finish it when i have free time
thats not what this post is about though just saying about my post i made a few days ago
ANYWAY, I need help figuring out a color to fit the “Environment”. I understand it sounds like a small task but i’m stuck. I don’t want to keep re using the same colors that are already used. I tried red but to me it does not really fit well.
I feel like you should make it green and and once someone vote’s, the button changes to red? Here’s an example of the voting buttons in Super Knife Frenzy.
See thats the issue though. Since the grass is green I don’t think people will really notice until they either see the grey bottom or someone presses it themselves. I want them to notice it right away but for it to also look like it sorta belongs there.
I was just outside taking the dog out and thought about possibly making like a dirt patch fit in somehow and making the pads green. So this way it wont blend in with the grass but it will still look natural.
I think you should make some sort of stand or stage for it. I think Assasin has implemented this feature in their game. If you use a stage made of like white stone, any colour will stand out very well and you could even have a sign that says “Vote Here!”
I honestly don’t think color matters that much. What matters more is that they stand out and scream “Hey! You can stand on me to vote!”.
You can achieve this by doing a couple things:
• Make them stand out by using a unique color (yes I know I just said color doesn’t matter, but that’s because you only mentioned blue, red and green, which are very basic colors.)
• Make them a bit more detailed than other parts of the map.
• Perhaps add a decal on top with a “vote” icon.
• Particles to make the button stand out more.
Roblox Deathrun gives players the ability to place flags on the voting stand which is a really unique way that also shows other players that you can vote there.
Sorry for the really late reply, sorta missed your reply. I don’t have access to blender until I get my new computer next month. So i’m kinda just sticking to what I have at disposal to me currently with this computer.
But when I get access to blender ill for sure be remaking some things.
Particles, neon, and lighting are very scream-ish. Changing material to neon and back to “blink” is visually loud as well. But there are several options. You can also have/animate BillboardGui arrows to draw attention to the buttons. Or you can have signposts or lanterns or such.
Making the buttons be camp-fires might fit the aesthetic – maybe you have a signpost detailing what you are voting for (and the number of votes) next to each and then each vote increases the fire size. And some visual effect to show which users have voted in order to promote interaction.
Usually I would just make them all white, then once the player steps on it/clicks it, it’ll change to a noticeable color, and possible have sparkles or something around it.
The moment I read this post I had a similar idea, neon parts are definite and if you’re looking for them to be the centre point of the lobby make them a colour that contrasts with green. For example Magenta, Bright Pink or Cyan. You could also make it so the terrain includes a raised section with all your voting models ect.
Colour recommendations (when set as neon parts) ;
Purple - 98, 37, 209
Pink - 255, 83, 189
Blue - 47, 111, 207
Red - 255, 89, 89
