A lot of the time sponsorships do really badly. The roblox developer economy in general is very one sided, with only top developers really benefiting from ads. It’s so hard to start off a new game even with a budget like 100k-1mil.

Try using advertisements.

Pretty sure that the game icon and name are a huge part. Also, the budget you used was way too low. :((

Your ad is no offense, super super unappealing. People will think its another random try hard copy of a game. OMG SLENDERMAN! I do not mean to be rude, but your ad is just not appealing.

The icon is a bit scary and it’s too retro and no originality game concept nor icon art.
In simple words, everything is wrong.

Sponsorships is better for building a playerbase, advertisements for growing it.

My first impression on that game icon was it was a copy of the more popular “Don’t Press The Button” game. So many variants, most of which don’t get attention. Based on this information, I wouldn’t click it. If you had used more than 1K, you probably would have gotten more clicks but not a higher CTR.

Sponsored ads have always done horribly. Don’t blame yourself. I can list all of the reasons why;

1: They are hard to notice. Sometimes sponsored ads will be displayed further down in search results, meaning that some players might not even see them.

2: It just displays a small icon, and there isn’t much room for anything meaningful ot attractive to be displayed.

3: When players go to search for a game, they already know what they want to play. I would make a feature request for ads to not run when players are viewing a game page/search page, but I am not of high enough permission. Think about it though- If you’re searching for a game you want to play, are you going to click on an ad for another, unrelated game?

In the future, I highly suggest you use regular ads instead of sponsored ads. Hope this helps!

Its not your fault you could have the flashiest ad and wonderfulness ad ever and you get less then 200 people playing. also try social media platforms for hype

Maybe because you’re advertising on a Monday and only selecting phone and tablet at 6:30 AM in the morning…

So, I guess the answer is clear.

Also, your budget is WAY too low and the ad looks unappealing.

Insightful, assuming by building you mean maintaining.

I don’t, I mean literally creating it from scratch.

probably because

  1. your icon looks like its from 2007
  2. there’s already thousands of games like it
  3. it’s a sponsor which doesn’t gain as much attention

To be fair, your advertisement has to be more creative to be appelative, that’s what people like to see, not the copy 'n paste games. Apart from that, I personally think a budget of 1k is an arguably small amount of robux to cause a big impression, even for a beginner developer; my personal opinion tho.

The quality of your icon plays a huge part. You had also putdown way too low amount of money to be able reach out to your desired amount of audiences. To successfully obtain your preferable amount of player base I’d suggest remaking and improving the icon of your game. Invest at least 5-10K into your sponsorship depending on your budget. Personally, I do not like using the sponsorship feature on ROBLOX and would rather promote on other social platforms, since you would need to invest at least 100K to actually get a good amount of players in your game. Best of luck!

These arguments don’t make any sense. Horror games and retro games have both of those things. Some have both aswell.

You’re saying that all horror games have low quality icons? Is that the “horror speciality”?

Retro means old, vintage. Not low quality.

I tried a new logo and raised the budget to 14k and only got 3k clicks now, aka like 6 players every 3 minutes
