Things to take in:
Yes, there is no steering wheel, will be added later.
And it is a mix of the classic Mario kart body, with the new futuristic Mario kart 8 wheels.
Relatable. Sometime’s when I’m building I get the feeling that something is off, and usually your gut instinct is right! It usually means your not satisfied or like you feel a part is off or something puts you off.
Sometimes, it’s sizing proportions being inconsistent, rotations being messed up, or entire details missing altogether.
Looking at the real thing, it looks like yours has a small seat in comparison to the seat mario is sitting in. Mario sits in a seat that looks to be encompasing and surrounding him in, where as your seat is rather small for the go-kart and is missing a steering wheel as well. Perhaps the boosters in the back are too nimble and small?
Glad you are picking up on these details, it’s definitely a nice thing to have if your radar goes off as it ensures that your design is the best it can be for players and other people to see. Hope I at least helped you somewhat to finish the race
I Don’t think you need to add anything to it, but I think you could make a lot of improvements just by changing the size and “volume” of things you’ve already added.
As a huge Mario Kart fan, I find this perfectly okay. As you said, the only thing I suggest is adding a wheel to the front to give it more Mario Kart vibes but as you’re doing it anyway, it’s absloutely fine. Keep it up.
Thanks so much for the feedback. I have taken all of these into account and will be posting an updated version of the new kart. Thank you to @Beartikal and @MrChickenRocket for the detailed responses, and thanks to everyone for the compliments and comments!
