Hello. I am trying to figure out what other players look for when they play a RPG game on ROBLOX. What makes you play the game, keep going back, or what features interest you about the genre?

I usually feel like a good RPG game gives a lot of ways to play it like being a ranger or melee etc. Adding more ways for people to play your game will sure retain them for long

First, I would like to use my own avatar, most RPGs never respect that. I could accept removing my cosmetics and shirts, but my face, hair and skin, no. I hate those who use completely new bodies like fortnite characters…
Secondly, I would like to PvP any players I want, of course there could be “safe zones” but pure PvE is just too boring.

well some developers don’t want to go trouble of programming a huge algorithm
that remove your hair when you wear helmet
that remove your shirts when you wear chestplate
that removes cosmetics when you wear something
and many more!

A good storyline, good gameplay, and good progression. All in a well made world with original characters that have good character building.
Basically what world zero used to be before the more recent updates like world six and seven and everything else that changed.

Something I like is for it to not look too intimidating at the start and so it’s easy to get into.

challenge (not through inflating stats but through well made enemies a good example of this is deepwoken)

options (i look for games that have mechanics that reward skill blocking, dodging, parrying, etc although i suppose it isn’t something you’d find in a classical RPG)
