Any suggestions of what we should add or improve on? (main concern is the lobby environment though) It could be GUI wise too. The game itself is not done, but it has a round system already added (3 people to start)
Most of us probably won’t bother looking without any images. (Sorry ;o)
It and your UI looks amazing, just please remove outlines.
First off, the rules look very familiar to roblox. I think there’s a murderer game with the same rules. Making a direct competitor to that game isn’t the worst idea, but inertia is a hell of a force, and the users who play that murderer game (esp. if that game has persistent perks which they’ve earned/bought) are unlikely to swap over.
That said, if you’ve got the persistence to really beat it (your game will have to be ~2.5x as nice, probably), you might eek out a market share.
BUT, you weren’t asking for that. So here’s my thoughts on the lobby: add a trim around the walls (at the base). It’s a nice easy way to improve the look. Additionally, if your users will be spending a lot of time in the lobby, give them stuff to do. If they can edit loadouts/in-game perks, have physical kiosks for them to go up to – those are a nice touch. Likewise for buying upgrades, etc.
I don’t know how complete this game is, but I would worry about the lobby last. You’ll know what you need to add once you’ve added your in-game features. I think you’re good to make a playable game before finishing work on the lobby.
Hey!
I found the lobby a bit boring and small sorry.
You should add playground rooms .
Also add an outdoor environment, it looks weird to see void through the windows, and you lobby will look 10X better.
I’m going to steal this and make it more FBI like for my game Hitman… Thx 4 idea!
And add supporting shadows/ backgrounds so it’s actually readable
what are some of your ideas for outside environment of the lobby?
Pay attention to your map colors. My personal rule of thumb is to color floors, walls and ceiling in different contrasting colors - this may help make your work twice as appealing. Of course, there is way more to color, but it comes with practice!
Yellow is pretty much the only color I see at the moment. You may prefer adding more fabric / brick texture as well as changing your tones to gray / black / light red / dark brown.
