I just wanted to see what you guys thought about my game.
What do I have to do?
I can’t see anything and the torch seems to not be working, I couldn’t even read the instructions as they were all cluttered
What device were you playing on?
I was playing on phone, why.?.
The game usually appears like that on mobile devices from what I’ve seen.
Then you should seriously optimise it for Mobile
I stepped into a building and after cranking my brightness all the way up to 100 I saw it was a store. I can’t even see other player’s chats without cranking my brightness. Please make it brighter.
I will come back to the game and write better feedback when it’s brighter.
Even the daytime isn’t terribly bright
Same angle but at night.
Hey here are some pointers or things I picked up while playing… overall it wasn’t that good of an experience. There is substance here where you can expand on, namely the story but the “Survive” the night trope without any real reward for putting up with a bad experience needs to be changed. I can recommend focusing on making this into more of a Story- Survival/Horror game where not only they need to survive the nights, they have the ability to progress in the story as it goes on while avoiding the monster. From there Each night survived will feel like you are making progress.
Environment
-
The Music is exceptionally loud, to create a better experience I recommend toning it down and adding more atmospheric sounds such as footsteps etc. It also becomes upbeat, which deviates from the “Horror” aspect.
-
For the Map, the river gets annoying as you cant see where you are to begin with, especially during the night and with the “closed” lid blinking cycle, which ultimately leads for you to die. The blinking cycle imo doesnt add anything to the game but makes things somewhat more annoying, as for 2/3 seconds your screen goes black.
-
The RGB respawn cycle take you out from emersion
-
The X for instructions and then Q for controls is redundant as it just takes you back to the X for instructions and also gives you another prompt for Q.
Gameplay Experience
Not that good
-
The main point is that it is way too dark, and players cant tell what they are reading or even seeing. Nor do they fully know what they are doing. This plus nightime lasting 7 minutes where you can be 3/4 tapped while still not know what you are doing just isnt enjoyable. Cant even see the chat of myself and other players
-
I noticed there were notes scattered about the map, but since there is 0 time to become invested in what story there is, there isn’t any point for me to seek it out other than hide in the shop where the map cant get me. This also goes for the NPCs and their dialog, from what I can gauge is that there is a story such as the cave, but the first point makes it so hard to enjoy what has be.
-
Too many unnecessary things makes the player take damage, and the damage taken for me falling .2 of a stud took me down to half health.
Alright, I changed the brightness from 0 to 1.5. Is this bright enough, or should I make it brighter?
That’s bright enough for seeing, maybe you c an make it a little darker (a little)
Just played it, I would probably recommend to make the dark just a little brighter. Also found a bug where you can get multiple shotguns and autoclick fire them.
I just played a bit more and brightness is not higher, and I couldn’t see the monster so…
And also, I saw the Morse Code which translates in:
Bury our dead
I changed the brightness to 2.5. Is that better?
I’ll check when I can, hopefully I now can see what will kill me
Sorry but how are you even playtesting this game? The brightness is slightly better but I still can’t see much. The flashlight b a r e l y works at night.
For me I can see it normally, even when it’s at 0 brightness.
