GRG: Generic Roleplay Game | By @AznDibs
PMEBGE: prtty much evry bordr gam evr | by @Mr_Wiggles
What would you guys want to see in a game like these two?
Current teams I am planning to add:
Tell me if you think any of these should be modified/removed
King/Queen | Make laws, raise/lower taxes, and order people around
Royal Guard | Protect the king/queen from barbarians and secure the palace
Royal Servant | Serve the king/queen and keep them happy
Knight | Fight the barbarians and keep the peace in the kingdom
Citizen | Run from barbarians and make money to pay taxes
Emperor | Special developer role, highest authority in the kingdom
Admin | On-duty moderators
All feedback appreciated!
I think any new game meant to be like GRG requires a completely new-setting/time period, along with mechanics and/or changes that match the setting. I’ve actually been developing my own game meant to be similar to GRG, but modern. basically, be different enough from GRG; no one wants to play GRG 1.2 where they don’t have their old stats. If your game has all the same roles and exact same mechanics for those roles as GRG, why would the average GRG player swap over?
TL:DR: you’ve gotta make a differentiation from GRG in your game that makes your game worth playing over GRG. PMEBGE got success because it was different than GRG in gameplay loop, despite mimicking the quirks of GRG. Your current idea is just too alike to GRG to spawn instant interest in anyone who already plays GRG, so changes are necessary

Make a Generic War-field, or Generic Sandbox, either make the PvP more wacky and diversified or add more creativity features. Adding new roles and ranks is stupid.

PMEBGE was created before GRG. Stop. No.
