I have never really made a UI as I have focused on getting better on my gfx but here is the ui
I forgot to remove the white background sorry about that
I have never really made a UI as I have focused on getting better on my gfx but here is the ui
I like the color scheme and the font, however I would change the color of the mana text as it can blend into the background and people who can’t see colors as well might not see it
Before I put my critiques in this UI.
Let me first explain the fundamental of a good UI
A good UI has/is
Now lets look onto your UI
While the bar is good, Why is the interior of it, slanted it leads to a confusing look
It also confusing if it is a Health,Hunger,Stamina bar, Adding something that resembles health such as red, heart or just adding health will fix it.
Now the numbers, It has a white outline and a bright color scheme and a thick font.
This leads it to breaking color scheme and rule 1 which is “easy to understand”
This is because of the white outline and having a bright color scheme
They are both bright so its really hard on the eyes and the thick font adds to it.
To fix it, Darken the outline.
Next is the Mana bar while having good design.
There are problems…
Its a circle located in the bottom left. Now the problem here is balance.
There is nothing to balance it with.
It could be fixable by:
or
Now lets move on to its balance.
Player Stats is actually kinda distracting to look at, It takes out most of the UI trying to fight the important components,
To fix this, scale it down and move it upwards.
Next lets move onto color composition.
-Its a good color gray, blue, green thats a nice choice
Green is too bright on the numbers same with blue ruining the colour scheme.
Otherwise 3/10 for practicality or 8/10 for a first composition.
Some items I would recommend for you to learn is:
-Composition
-Rule of Thirds
-Color Theory
But the most important thing about learning how to make a good UI, is practicing those of that I listed earlier.
Its a good UI I can understand that you are going for simplicity.
Thanks alot, I really have been invested into learning UI design the reason the health bar is slanted is becuase I was trying to mimic sword burst 2’s health bar effect
found that image on google btw
I agree with most of your points tbh the colour composition was complete fodder.
I gotta be honest I took like a 4 hour break on most of the UI itself cos well i got bored so I think thats why I lost the suit of the fonts tbh.
Thank you so much for the critique I will try to work on it
