For those who have seen me post a lot on here; I am merely just trying to improve. I’m glad you came by to see my progress in graphic design.
Into the point, I basically just tried to one-up my realistic type of graphic designs. I hope to receive feedback and some advice on what to improve on. I have just over 2 weeks of experience and I’m learning something new each graphic design I make.
I’d just like to say that… THIS TOOK FOREVER!! Everything you see was made by me except the textures on the road, effects, and the background. So yes. I made the rain which took up more of my time.
The lighting and the post don’t look that good (I would make the shadows smoother and change the roughness of the face along other stuff), and the background is just an image and doesn’t look realistic (you could at least rotate it or something, but I would recreate the trees in 3d). The road looks good but the light that the knife is producing isn’t that realistic, it should be reflecting under the knife, not that far away. I think the shirt has too much bump, I would decrease it a bit.
But for only 2 weeks of experience it looks quite good, you have lots of room to improve.
Thanks for the in-depth feedback! My main struggle would be backgrounds and skies… Which I can totally understand why it wouldn’t be realistic. I spent more time on the road and rain than I did on the camera view, character, and lighting. Which took a lot of energy out of me and slightly rushed it. I do believe I could’ve done way better than this. I will definitely take the suggestion modeling trees for my next gfx! Same goes for the bumped clothes.
very nice design for 2 weeks. I could never become so good in 2 weeks. here is some good advice tho
The bumpmap on the road seems a bit stretched out and the crown can use some detail.
also i recommend you to make the legs and arms that reflect the ligt a bit darker so it blends in your scene.
When rain drops you can see a motion in the rain ( these stripes you know?) I recommend you to make like rain lines and splashes in your scene.
I would agree with @TomYoGaming , the federation hat doesn’t fit with the dark theme, but I really like the gfx in general. The avatar though almost blends in with the background on the left side, which makes it really hard to see.
What’s with it with all these new artists coming up and being amazing? Is there some new amazing tutorial that just popped up? I love it! The lighting is great, I love the use of the rain, and I love the clothes bump. Well done!
The crown and the pose of the character look extremely out of place, the character’s legs look constipated, like he really has to find a bathroom. Also, I still don’t understand if it’s daytime or night time, the background says the sun is out but the reflection on the roads seem like they’re reflections of a road at night. In my opinion I’ve never liked renders of characters without faces, but very good for getting started! You will learn from trial and error, and there’s not much error here so keep it going!
