What do you think of these border buildings?

I made these for a friend’s hospital game, I wanted to have the effect of it being in a large city without having to build one that would be unused. I made simple buildings, and made 2 layers of them surrounding the city, then a striped wall with the same colors. There will be invisible walls preventing people from going in here, and they will not be able to get up close. What can I improve?

The actually look really nice. Could you make some of the buildings taller than others? Maybe some of them could have lights on or something.

I suppose so, but the purpose of these were just to have a quick and simple background since they’re not the main focus. Lights or variations could draw the eye towards how basic they are, or detriment the vanishing point illusion.

You can try to do some skycrapers in that as well as just mixing up the sizes and consider some different colors / wider and not wider buildings!

This doesn’t really resemble a real life city as for the border layout you could try adding higher buildings or probably add some lighting effect placed on the windows to show a more appealing effect as that’s what you will see in real life city’s

Right now, yours look fine if your keeping things simplistic and not to complex or detailed but I can see all the buildings do have a repetitive design perhaps try creating a second building design and then you could have a more enhance version of a real city layout. It should really resemble a more interesting look made from variety of parts, or different formation of window types featuring window muntin,

Buildings with a light window appearance

different colours, shapes and lengths really make a world of difference, add some wedges at the top of a few, maybe cylinder buildings, just something that makes it feel less like a 3d printed dystopian mass human containment area… ya know?

like this effect on one of my latest builds?
