What does a game need?

I have been wondering about this for a little while now.
I need a kind of game idea with good replay value and at the same time its not that hard and long. What else should a game have?

Innovation. Don’t be afraid to be quirky with your game design. You want a game that will stick inside your players’s minds to keep a constant traffic through your game’s lifespan.

Arguably one of the most important aspects of the game is how well it retains players, as I’m sure you know. Much alike business in the real world, it is much easier to retain players than it is to find new ones.

You need to have at least 1, multiple if you’re really striving for it, cool aspect in the game which either has some sort of retention scheme (such as a daily login or something along those lines) or unique assets which are rarely seen on Roblox - even better if never seen on Roblox.

I personally have no preference in game genres, but I can assure you many people do. So, think about who your target market is (ie. age, gender, location) and tailor the game to that market. So for example, if you’re aiming it at younger generations, don’t use as much ambitious vocabulary and don’t make it overly difficult.

Hopefully that all made sense lol.

It depends on what game you are creating. A simulator would need a currency system while obbys do not need any. Do what is needed in your game is what you are creating

In my opinion, I would first try finding a target audience. Often times, this will help you pin point a specific game, or genre to create. You want a game that players will come back to as well. For example, Simulators are a game that players keep coming back to. This will attract even more players, and be very beneficial for you. This of course also depends on how the game is laid out, and whether it is well made or not. I would also recommend to try something new or different and be unique with it. Yes games like simulators are fun and people still love it, and there is nothing wrong with that. Arguably, id suggest that you add in your own unique twists or additions to the game, so that players are presented with something new. Hope this helped!

Offer 1000 robux to any player that completes a certain level in your game. and 500 robux to players that invite friends who completed a certain level in your game.

Make that level impossible to complete and have players play it constantly and miss out on school because of your game.

You still have to make it a bit possible because otherwise people would stop playing

You underestimate the power of robux.

Kids will chase after endless rewards

Honestly, there are so many things that I could say however I’ll keep it short.
From my personal experience, you need a reason for people to come back to your game.
You also need to get the players interacting and being involved in your game. Never make a game to confusing to play.

To be honest, just have fun with your game and I’m sure other people will have fun playing!

An original theme and something intriguing to keep the player coming back

I totally agree with this! I also see this from a Developers POV.
If you don’t like the topic, you won’t put the effort in.

Those types of kids sooner or later will realize it’s impossible and share with everyone. You will be seen as a negative later on.
