What does ?refPageId=id actually do to the game page

All Roblox gamepages now have this query (refPageId)

My question is what this query actually does to the gamepage (if anything)

[LevelOfDetail (Exellar)]

As far as I know this is for Roblox’s analytics so they can see which page the user came from on the game page. (home, front page, etc.)
