Hi! So I am trying to build a lobby with one other dev, and we’re not sure what else to put into it. We have this so far, but we are making a minigame game, and we think people would be bored if they didn’t have much to do in the lobby. We think this lobby should be fun because many people will get knocked out of rounds, and then stuck in the lobby. Any ideas are appreciated and also if you have any feedback that will also be appreciated.
I suggest adding different rooms such as a lounge, and maybe a VIP room. This allows for; 1. Players to have someplace to hang out with others if they want. 2. The VIP room allows for more benefits if you decide to monetize some sort of VIP perk within the minigames. Overall, the colors look a little harsh, especially paired with the neon and the skybox time of day. If you are going for this look, I recommend toning down the amount of Neon to make it easier on the eyes of the players, which enhances the playing experience.
Make buildings that are accessible and beautiful, and that are not VERY large. Add buildings in a specific location that is accessible and visible to everyone (have more attention, say).
Examples:
I start my creation of a Lobby in the middle, I add a Statue and a circle at the bottom, and then I place the Spawns. Thus, you can add: “Shop”, “Obby” and more on the left or right sides.
See an example of one of my creations:
A statue in the middle of the map, with decorations around the map and also some decoration features, also added to the store (however, I will improve this construction).
If you want, you can create a Cartoon style environment, make your game look new and still catch your audience’s attention!
If you have a donation system, I’d suggest creating a SurfaceGui leaderboard for a highest donation list! Or, if your game has an exp datastore system, you could create a leaderboard for that as well.
Additionally, I’d change the neon bricks to SmoothPlastic instead as it causes less eye strain.
