If you are solely in it for monetization I’d say definitely create some incentives such as VIP perks and such.
You can also try to make it appeal more to premium players as premium payouts are now a thing. Things such as implementing a system where premium players get better bonuses or a special name tag.
You can also sell in game items that will give players and advantage or such.
These things can easily be implemented into cash grab games like obbys and simulators.
Are you asking for advice for marketing your game (i.e. getting players) or monetization (getting those players to spend money)?
Marketing
For marketing, it’s always tough for a new developer with no current following. If you have a community that’s already established, use them. Tell them about your game, ask them to play. That’s the first step and from there it should be pretty easy.
If you don’t have a community, advertising and sponsoring could work but they require Robux and aren’t that great for growing a stable and devoted playerbase. When I released my first game, I showed it off on Twitter and Reddit to get a small community, then I did what I said above after I had a tiny following.
Monetizing
A lot of people waste a lot of time on monetizing. It’s actually really simple and doesn’t go very deep on Roblox at least; my game had a lot of success as far as monetization goes without thinking too much about it. If you have an in-game currency, offer purchases for that. Entice players to buy by redirecting them to your shop if they don’t have enough money to purchase something.
VIP gamepasses sell especially well and you don’t really have to give many benefits. Many people will buy if you just include things like a chat tag and other trivial benefits.
I’ve recategorised this thread to Game Design Support. It is not appropriate for Discussion because it’s not invoking a generalised or thoughtful discussion about development on the platform, rather asking for ideas specifically for your game.
I also made a second edit to change the title because your thread is more about game ideas than about marketing. Although this edit was made, it’s imperative that you make changes to the content of your thread to actually explain more in detail about the group you’re running and the place you want to make so you can actually get direct feedback. Otherwise, the only real answer to your question is “anything goes, so long as it makes you Robux and keeps the game engaging”.
