What is a character mesh and how to use it?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to make a character for a project I was working on, and when I was done modeling, I imported the parts into studio, but then I was confused on how to actually set the startercharacter or just any character in the game to the character I modeled in blender.

So I came across something called “CharacterMesh”. When u go to the documentation it says that this modifies the character’s appearence but only for r6, which is fine for me, but I dont know how to make it work. Do you just put the characterMesh into the character and then select a bodyPart and put in a Id? Cuz thats what I tried but it didnt work I also tried looking up what it does but could find absolutely nothing.

Also another question what is the best way for setting a roblox character to the character you made in blender? Do you just change the Id of the meshPart or is it better use specialmeshes in every part?

If someone knows the answer the one of my questions I would be very thankful if you could replied.

All you do is place the character mesh in the character, define the mesh and then the body part to modify. Try using the Rig Builder, enable feminine and R6, use a block avatar and spawn the rig. You can find the character mesh inside it, so you can use that as an example.
