I’m developing with a team and I noticed the animator I’m working with is having some odd behavior animating a rig. What can be done about it?

You didn’t rig it properly that’s the reason why it does that.
Most of the time its you rigging the rootpart incorrectly.

Try making the hammer melee part massless, or reducing the density through custom properties, I encountered this issue as well when I was working with a custom rig with a giant sword, could work.
