What is missing from my game?

Hi
I have been working on and off my game ‘Parkour Masters’ for the last 2 years. I’m very excited as I feel the core gameplay loop turned out exactly how I imagined it 2 years ago.

It is basically a round-based ‘team vs team’ game with many different obbies. Players have to battle it out over the obbies with swords and laserguns, or just try their best to complete the obby faster than the other team.

My game is much more fun with multiple players (team vs team modes), but I find it hard to maintain a consistent playerbase. I sponsored the game for 10k (all in 24 hours), and I got around 1k visits with peak concurrent userbase of 15 players.

Most players really liked the game concept but became bored because of the low player count. Unfortunately now the servers are pretty much always empty.

Here are a few images of my game:

I would love to hear your ideas on how I could improve my game!

Thanks for reading and testing my game!

Hi!

After playing the game, I really liked it. I think this idea is extremely good, it’s finally not just a boring obby, I like it. The effor you put into the game can be seen with the maps’ quality, the design, the scripts. On the other side, I don’t understand why you built the maps like that: the lobby’s theme is mixing a low quality building with some simulator game and random grass. I would remake the lobby and make the theme more like to the game. About the games: I think the current obby-size (the blocks you can jump onto) is fine with a smaller playerbase, but after time you should expand the blocks for jumping, because on the ships it’s just 6 blocks, on the light music room it’s 4, which is small I think. The gui’s theme doesn’t really fit with the lobby, but their size is okay (gui theme: the button’s on the player’s screen only, the 4 on the left), I think the main screen’s gui is a little bit too much cartoon-theme, but it’s my opinion only. At all, I think you made a very good, unique game, but with above it could be improvised a little I think. I think some basic textures don’t look good like with the A320 (the plane), which is 1 material with the spawning area. Some maps like the sewer is not good looking and really dark, I’m scared a little when it comes. I think it’s some modeling issues only, but really, really the game is very epic, but I think it shouldn’t be called as an obby or a parkour, because it’s much cooler than it. I would keep the idea with the scripts, and improvise the maps a little with a few more modes, because it’s team agains team right now I think, I would change it with a few modes. The images for advertises also could be revamped becaues they are just images with edited texts, I would make them more eye-catching with the main icon. I really like it, feel free to message me because I really like the concept of the game.

Hi

Thank you very much for the kind words.
Yes, the obby is pretty much the first thing I built for the game and it’s a little weird, I should definitely improve it.
I will also look into new gamemodes.

Thank you for the suggestions!

This might be because of a update to the site where only users over the age of 13 can see ads.

Most the time when a sponsored ad does not do well it is when the icon of the game is not very good. I haven’t seen the icon of the game but I can assume that it might be one of the reasons why the sponsored ad failed.

Also to keep players engaged in your game, add something that the players have to play to earn. For example, pet simulator x has a feature where you can redeem gifts every few minutes. This is a great way to keep players playing and grinding for the gifts.

Hi

The gift idea seems very interesting.

Thanks for the suggestion!
