I just got back into ROBLOX development, and was wondering about what makes a game profitable and what actions I should commit to ensure it doesn’t flop immediately?
Well, I can answer the first question also you should put this in #help-and-feedback:game-design-support
You see, making a game profitable means the player is willing to purchase stuff in your game because they enjoy it enough, the longer people are playing your game the better it is for your profits, think about it premium payouts is based on what I presume is how long they are in your game for, which goes back to how long people are playing your game, and if players are playing longer it gives more opprtunity for them to buy stuff in your game, and for more players to join the game, repeating the cycle
So, create a game thats engaging and undeniably fun and structure where your focusing on playtime not profits, “When you chase money, you’re going to lose”

I would say for me, as a small fish in a big sea, that i created an Obby with soul and free tools, ambiance and some unlackables from playtime so 0 focus on profit just wanted kiddos to have fun, i was surprised because even with only 1300 visits to my game i’ve gotten 135 robux from remium payouts, and mind you the average play session is 6 minutes for my game, and only 10% of my visitors were premium so it pays out quite a lot (based on how little premium engagement i’ve had).
I would say it’s a perfectly viable strategy to have a hangout cozy game and get good money out of premium payouts.
