I’d have to say the latest one because the latest one can do anything the previous ones can and more

Although others use older versions of Blender, I would use the latest version as it provides more functions I could work with.

Consider using 2.8, it’s easy to understand and does have a curve when learning the interface and tools, watch a few beginner tutorials to get the basics, and understanding on how things work. If your having trouble with things there are basic guides such as “Blender Guru’s” tutorials related to the latest version.

I wouldn’t really learn the older versions as the latest ones have done changes and move things around I would start with Blender 2.8 as a beginner learner it has basic understanding and many features on how things work, as you will learn the ropes once you get comfortable with learning the software and interface.

Older versions do have capabilities into creating designs there may be not much tutorials related to older versions; I would choose a version your more comfortable learning.

Is blender 2.80 and blender 2.8 the same?

Yes, Blender 2.8 is (2.80) people just don’t add the zero at the end there isn’t no difference with it, while searching you could view the different versions within the blender site and you will see it’s used Blender 2.80. That being said, the overall curve and workflow isn’t much different from previous versions they just did a change regarding the interface and tools. Things may be easier to understand once learning.
