What is the difference between visits and sessions?

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I want to know the difference between visits and sessions.

  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
There is a difference between the number of visits and the number of sessions in the analytics.
The total value for a month or so is 30K visits vs. 20K sessions.
We also saw a pattern where the number of sessions exceeded the number of visits when we checked with other experiences.
I would like to know the definition of visits and sessions and the difference in how they are counted.

  3. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?
I checked the help and the forum, but could not get a clear explanation.

From my understanding, a session is a period of time of which the player stays within your game, how long that is, idk.

Visits are every time a player joins your game, cause you know, they visit it

I assume you mean session time.
There is a separate section for sessions apart from session time.
I’m trying to figure out the difference between sessions and visits.

Its how long a player stays in the game

Each time a player logs in to your game = 1 visit.
Each time a player stays engaged in your game without a significant gap = 1 session.

Examples:
If a player joins, (+1visit, +1session) gets kicked out because of server crash but rejoins soon after (+1visit)
Total 2 visits 1 session.

If player joins (+1visit, +1session), leaves and doesn’t return until some time later, (+1visit, +1session).
Total 2 visits 2 sessions.

Thanks, I understand.

One point, there are cases where sessions are more than visits, what could be the reason for this?
I wonder if there are cases where in-game place moves, etc. are also related to the number of visits or sessions.
