What is your opinion on F3X Btools?

I i almost never use F3X btools, i only use it for scale models, move things and put textures. For me, studio default tools are better.

I use F3X Btools sometimes because by default you can’t give a union a brick color but using F3X Btools you can and after that you can change the brickcolor without using F3X aslong as it’s the same union.

I also use it to multi-task scaling objects instead of doing it 1 by 1, different rotation types and much more.

But at the end I don’t and wouldn’t recommend using F3X Btools as a replacement for the original studio tools as it just feels much more visible to build without a GUI blocking your view and much more negatives to it.

I have never used F3X tools on studio, but it seems like its not good on studio, because on studio you already have all the tools you need.

I never really used F3X Btools. I personally think it is for beginners. Most people I have talked to that used it basically said it was more user friendly with the settings but slower. It took me a week to realize why collision was not working when I first started using studio.

I recommend you check out SBS (Studio Build Suite)
That’s what I used when i was soley relying on roblox parts, and use to move meshes til this day.

I used it for the increments because for symmetry – you need some kinda fixed increments.
Greatly improved my build quality.
Also you can rotate parts based on edges, which is super useful.
This is qCmdUtl but SBS is the same basically.

Also…the regular build tools on windows are so uncomfortable –ctrl+1, my tiny fingers can’t handle it, I’ll give a little tip -change it to alt+1 and so on.

You can color unions with the basic tools, just enable usepartcolor in the union proprieties

You Can Give a union a color. Did you try to read all the propieties of unions?

The Studio tools and the F3X tools complement each other very well

Studio tools have given me almost everything I need when it comes to building, an ability to scale and move multiple parts at the same time with reference to their own scale / position would be very nice, then again that’s when tools like F3X and SBS come in handy.

Yes! But I think it’s tedious to have to check it on all unions, should have mentioned that.

I use both Studio and Btools but I mostly use F3X cause it makes everything faster for me and the shortcuts make it faster too. but I do sometimes use Studio tools for certain things.

Dang, compared to the other people who posted saying they don’t use F3X or may not like their features, I use F3X on a daily basis.

It’s one of my many arsenals of building and modelling tools that I use to get the job done aha.

When I build on Roblox, meaning solely building stuff provided on Studio, if I were to build a realistic house, historical structure, cafes, restaurants and practically any form of architectural structure as well as some minor stuff like paths for simulators, I’d use F3X. But if it were to be some more detailed low-poly assets like houses, mountains, assets and practically an entire map and models, I’d use blender.

I don’t use any other building plugin besides F3X, I’m already comfortable with F3X’s features and layout to move on to another building plugin.

I really don’t like using f3x. The main reason is just the keybinds and navigation menu. You can paint and overall build faster with the provided studio tools. If I were to use them, I’d only use them ingame. Ingame they get the job done, but for things like models and builds, they just won’t work because of the overall lack of things like unions. In my opinion, f3x is fine and good to start with but I wouldn’t recommend sticking with it as you begin learning building and modeling.

I love F3X. The plugin has a few critically essential uses:

-I can easily recolor models. Using default studio tools doesn’t allow me to color a model all one color, instead forcing me to move to properties where I have to select every part and slowly change the color. Really saves time here.

-I can easily change the materials of models. Same logic as above.

-I can easily anchor/un-anchor whole models. Really, F3X is wonderful when working with groups and models. Without having to select every individual part within a model I can instead just select the model itself.

So, F3X is really, really useful for its tools when dealing with models. I’d say for these three reasons alone I use it very often as I work with models, as you may guess, very often. F3X is essential for every builder who works with models often.

I mainly use F3X when building in studio when I need to scale a model. Usually with the Roblox tools, when you scale a model it expands, but when scaling with F3X, it scales in the direction you drag it, making scaling multiple parts at a time much easier.

see i take my hotkeys pretty seriously my studio tools are mapped to 1,2,3,4 and then my part, wedge, and cylinder are 6,7,8 and finally i map my f3x to 5. therefore i don’t ask questions like this all i have to do is hit 1 button and the plugin opens its not a task to go to the plugin tab and find the plugin then click on it. i just open it and i only use it for one thing, resizing roads on 1 axis. that’s how useful it is to me.

I personally use both. For the things that I can’t do with F3X, I use the Studio tools.

I use F3X as an everyday tool, as well as all of the plugins made by @stravant. They are all useful to me, but F3X is more efficient and easy to use than regular Studio tools.

I migrated from Studio tools to F3X a while ago when I realised there was a bug with Studio that wouldn’t let me use them properly (everytime I scaled a part, it would change orientation). But I used F3X and now it’s kind of hard to migrate back to studio, now that the bug is fixed.

My opinion might be a little biased and unpopular, but i think f3x is terrible.

wait F3X is still alive and being continued?
Jokes aside, I’ve only seen it in Stamper Build places, and honestly I wouldn’t really use it for studio.
