What makes a movement shooter... a movement shooter?

what could be added to a game to make it feel satisfying merging movement with some gunplay? I know it would require some type of inertia system and fast Time-to-kill, but is there any movement mechanic which would make it better? maybe some movement abilities like sliding?

movement shooters need movement, the prime example of a movement shooter is titanfall 2. Wallruns, stims, double jumps, grappling hooks, slides, all these options make movement not only an option, but the optimal path to win. So just go wild with movement options until you find something that makes your player go fast, and enjoy going fast.

Maybe use music that’s like fast to make it feel faster and increase the fov when you’re running, I also suggest you don’t add ADS as it makes the game slower.

I was thinking about mixing Assassin’s Creed like melee mechanics with FPS shooting mechanics.

Games that encourage and reward the player for always moving.

even 20 days later, somehow the “dont add ADS” part just gave me the best idea i had to solve most of the problems i had while developing my game, thanks!
