I’ve been on roblox for a bit developing on and off and I was wondering what make’s player’s choose one game over another? It’s a question I’ve been wondering about considering I’ve been wanting to make a game and I know I’ll be fighting against other big games.
So is they like one big reason or preference? Since my game is similiar to all the dead by daylight game’s I’ll stay on that topic. How would I get players to choose my game over game’s like “Flee the facility” or “Forsaken”?.
Or maybe a better question would be what make’s players choose “Forsaken” over “Flee the Facility”?.
There are a million factors you can consider when judging a game’s quality, and you can’t actually say whether a game is better than another simply because everybody has their preferences. But when it comes to players’ retention, often the most common factor in determining a game’s success, they can be boiled down to a single factor: gameplay loop. In other words, how can you make the game fun enough for a long time to keep your players occupied?
Take Forsaken and Flee the Facility, for instance. They’re both similar to Dead by Daylight, but what makes Forsaken more interesting is the addition of equippable characters, abilities to defend themselves, and more interactive assignments. This greatly improves the gameplay loop, making it less repetitive compared to Flee the Facility, which can become boring after a couple of rounds.
In short, if players’ retention is what you’re targeting, then you should seek out how you can make your game unique and replayable.
