I am curious to know what other devs here think… what makes these roleplay games so insanely popular?
As I write this, Brookhaven has 381,676 players.
Berry Avenue has 21,833.
Livetopia has 19,376.
Some of them have bad UI’s, bad modelling and map designs, and yet people still seem to love them.
What do you think are the main selling points on these roleplay games that attracts so many players?

For me, I personally like roleplay games because of how you can make up your entire personality and play with friends, and others. This makes it so there are almost no restrictions.
I must admit some RP games have poor quality that I personally do not like. I think the main selling point that attracts people would be being able to do whatever really.
In Brookhaven’s description, it says, “Own and live in amazing houses, drive cool vehicles and explore the city. Be whoever you want to be in Brookhaven RP.”
And Berry Avenu, " Welcome to Berry Avenue! A place to roleplay, hang out and explore!
Choose from a wide selection of stylish houses, cool cars & roleplay items to enhance your experience!
Become a student at the High School
Work at the grocery store
Rob the bank or become a police officer
Treat patients at the hospital
& much more!"
You can basically have an entirely different life. I also find RP games are much easier to hang out with friends or relatives, because in action games and simulators, you are working on your own, but rp games you can actually play with them and rely on them for certain parts.
That’s my opinion at least.
