What newer gun / projectile system would you use now?

Hello,

I am looking for developers opinions as of now /future, what gun / projectile system would you suggest using relative to the questions below or an up and coming system?

(With that in mind I have checked out FE, FE mods, ACS, spearhead and such, but have not fully pulled the trigger into going with one).

Items interested in:

Range of tunable gun systems, including sniper, pistol, shotgun, grenade, impulse grenade, rockets, plus some bullets / projectiles / custom weapons’ can bounce off walls and do damage, like a bouncy bomb, or a cactus bomb can where it is thrown and bounces off walls - explosion emits multiple mini shrapnel which can also bounce off walls, and such.

Different bullet systems, for different guns, different ammo pickup systems, ammo distribution systems to equipped / inventory guns (meaning you can have a common bullet used by multiple guns and it will replenish it to those weapons in your inventory, , if you drop a weapon it will keep some of that ammo type in your inv, different tunable ammo reloads (delay), stackable weapons for like grenades in one slot (yes would need custom hotbar etc).

Tunable weapons, that includes different distance ranges, damage amounts, bullet / projectile speed.

Able to have teams and not hurt them on some types of weapons, others can hurt or do other custom stuff.

Of course effects, mussel, impact, material detection, sounds, vfx.

Needs to NOT only be a FPS, but being able to be used in a top down view game looking down at the players head, which also means bullet / projectile needs to be able to not have gravity drop, but go purely straight to a tunable max distance.

Still being bug fixed, updated, using Roblox’s latest technology.

Built in anti cheats.

If you can provide details as to why you pick a system, pros cons, links to latest Dev forum related info, links to roblox model / kits, and social Diskord links or other, github etc.

Perhaps also list systems you would not recommend.

Also not looking for one that is proprietary or you are locked into their code / system, meaning if you get the system you have everything that is needed and there are not group id checks (unless its like this system is so good, so deal with it) or other means that the lock you into the system and control you having it. It is ok if it cost to get the package to start with ( or premium version etc).

there is fastcast, which is pretty good.

Hi are you using it and what is the link to the latest version? One I saw was 2019…

yea it’s outdated although I just made my own that was way less complex

dont use gun kits, it gets you no where because you dont know how it works and people dont like freemodeled games

use fastcast for projectiles though

This is a lot of specfic features you are looking for in an open source system. For these types of requirements, you’ll have better luck hiring someone or making it yourself. Although, for projectiles I suggest using SecureCast (you can find the resource on devforum). I personally use it in my projects and vouch for the developer that it is very well made and nice to work off of (if you know what youre doing). Anyways, I wish you good luck with your fps engine.

although I made my own, which saved me a lot of time and was literally the simplest thing ever, so I would make my own also because I know how it works.
