I’m working on an obby game, and the biggest problem so far is the fact that… there’s no reward. People go through this extremely tough obstacle course for nothing. I’m trying to think of ideas for what to reward people with when they complete the obby. I’m not thinking of anything chaotic or game-breaking, but I want it to be enough to make them feel like it was worth playing.
I would think about investing into badges, badges are like a virtual type of achievement that you could give people, which could add to popularity.
I don’t have any robux. I do plan on putting badges in once I get some, but I need a prize to get people to play my game so I can get robux to make badges.
You could probably go with most other obstacle courses, like giving them administrator commands.
haha… no. I don’t want to give them that much power. I’ve seen enough Flamingo videos to know that’s a bad idea.
Maybe you can reward a badge for the players who wins the obby and maybe some gears or a place to have fun and maintain the player base. As long if it doesn’t hurt the player base.
He said earlier he doesn’t have any robux…
In all honesty I think if you’re looking for robux obbies arent the te to invest your time into
Robux isn’t my main goal from this, I’m trying to get skills for future games.
How about a special emote? Or a shirt? (I’m not sure if this is possible)
Honestly there are a lot of places you could go with this. Give players a special trail, or chat tag, a discount on a gamepass, increased speed and jump, or in-game status.
If you’re still having trouble playing, you can play other people’s obbies to see what they did.
Good luck on your game!
I mean, if you have no robux and can’t do badges, then give them like a trail, face changer, avatar changer, name tag, in game currency, etc.
How could I give a discount to gamepasses? This could be pretty useful.
In my belief, a great reward is good ol, admin. Nothing abusive that could ruin the game but something that will feel rewarding. However, if you are looking for something unique, I would recommend making a custom tool. If you don’t have experience in doing something like that but want something unique but not to abusive, you could make it so they can fling one person or maybe reset someone’s progress. This is also a good robux maker because you could have it so they can reset one person’s progress for free when they finish, or they could pay robux to reset everyone! This is just a suggestion, but having made obbies in the past, it works very well!
You could add a boolean to players that determines the current value of any gamepass for each individual player, then change that value once they finish the obby (eg divide the current value by 50, 25, ect)
Honestly, I’m probably not the best person to answer this question as scripting isn’t my strong point!
The reward of obbies is successfully completing a challenging but satisfying obstacle course
Hmmm, maybe some coins so they can buy some trails after they complete the obby.
Why on earth would you add a coin system to an obby game?
Trails are a 2013 Roblox classic, but definitely provide room for trolling
You could announce the player in chat or a gui, also perks like a code they can enter, free ingame currency or admin tool are nice rewards.
You can reward players anything completing a certain obstacle within the game play. Most obstacle games give players gear things to play around when they complete a long obstacle course, I would try brainstorming ideas on what can I reward my players to make them have a enjoyable experience continuing playing your game.
As for an example: (Players completing a certain obby ‘Unlocking new obstacle courses that presents a more harder ’ medium challenges to enter’. You could experiment with adding points that will give them the availability to buy them from the shop. These elements do have to incorporate a ‘fun’ look.
Whatever rewards you include within your game try making them fun and enjoyable and not something players don’t find interest in completing, try viewing articles or threads as it does go into depth about what to reward your players with.
