A few days ago, I received a warning from Roblox stating that one of my games (hereinafter referred to as the “Testing Game”) was taken down due to containing discriminatory content. I have previously experienced false bans and have contacted the support team to have them resolved. Therefore, I contacted the support team again, hoping that this was another false detection. However, according to the support team, my Testing Game contains Discriminatory Content (Genocide), and they informed me that the action taken will not be reversed.
First and foremost, the Testing Game has been created for myself and game testers, serving as a test play version of the original game. It does not include any content that violates the terms of service. However, the support team has not provided any specific details regarding which content, images, or models within the game they are referring to, which has left me in a difficult situation.
If I were to recreate the game as a separate entity without making any changes and it would be taken down again, it would affect my future endeavors and also have repercussions on the original game. I feel helpless and unsure about what to do next. How can I proceed in this situation?
I would inquire more into the specifics of the case. Reach out to support, and figure out what exactly in the game referenced genocide. If they don’t tell you straightforward, evaluate the game and look for any references to the violation of rules.
If you find none, there really isn’t much you can do. You have two choices then, you can either re-upload the game and hope for the best, or you can do the opposite.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I recall correctly Roblox will only moderate published games, so adding your testers and including them via team create might also be an option? If that is not already handled via a group.
I contacted the support team to clarify the moderation details, but their response wasn’t satisfactory. They stated that a second appeal couldn’t be accommodated.
Even though the game doesn’t contain any political elements, do you believe there is a possibility that the game could be taken down due to the portrayal of this dilapidated structure and the raised black flag being perceived as depicting a genocidal or war-related background?
Might be possible, or it could be a moderation issue on Roblox’s end. The support team is likely a third party outsourced company and not comprised of actual Roblox employees.
I see. I will try to replace all the relevant content with something else and publish the game using a different account next week. Thank you very much for your assistance.
