What should I do for in-game purchases

Recently, I saw a DevForum post that I need in-game purchases in order to be successful.

I do not want my racing game to be a Mariokart Tour, so what should I do?

  • Sell access to Bloxy Kart
  • Turn into a Mariokart Tour

I’ve tried, it’s seriously not worth paying for that game.
It’s REALLY not a top-tier racing game, just general wacky fun.
Don’t make it paid access, games who does it are either super revolutionary or just killing itself.

Probably best not to sell access since most games are free here. If a player has to pay to play your game that they have no access to otherwise you aren’t going to get many visits.
Also, don’t make any reference to Nintendo characters or games. Chances are your game will get DMCA’d if you do, especially if it gets popular.

I mean selling access could work but you would rather be losing money. How?

Paid Access cant get premium payouts. Also your game cant be featured on XBOX If u make it paid access so you are better off the way you are. Talking about the 2nd option.

That is a reference to MarioKart tour being a Gacha game. I do not believe that games should have in-game purchases.

You know making it like Mario kart wont neccesarily make it popular.(my opinion)

If you Want to add Passes. Exclusive Vehicles?
Stats Boost? Mega Mechanic (Allows some Upgrades but wont affect Gameplay much depends on you).

So if you don’t want to make money off it make it free.

If you want players to get power-ups you can make an in-game currency like Willibucks that builds with experience or races won or time spent in game. With Willibucks they can buy items for their cart, or boosts.

This will get players to play for longer because there is a goal for them to play for.

If you want to make money off the game then make you can make items cost 200 Willibucks, or 10 Robux.

If you do that the game isn’t pay-to-play but if players want to give you Robux then that can be their choice.

I don’t know what you mean by turn into Mariokart Tour. But making Bloxy Cart paid access is only going to hurt it, not help it.

Making gamepasses is fine as long as you don’t go overboard. I think a good example of what not to do is Welcome to Bloxburg. You have to pay for literally everything in that game. I can’t think of any good examples, but maybe a good gamepass would be a vip cart, that’s not p2w at all whatsoever.

And remember, you don’t need gamepasses or payed access to make money. Premium payouts are probably where most of your income will come from.

What game passes should I add for a racing game? I hear just doing double currencies won’t work that well. Im also planning on doing that for free anyway on Fridays and Saturdays whenever the Levels system is added.

add exclusive cars as gamepasses, as long as they don’t have any more advantages (speed, etc) would be a great gamepass. if someone wants that car they buy it and if they don’t want it they don’t buy it
