What should I make for my game icon?

Okay, so I have a game I’m making, and I wanted to make a game icon for it that fits it’s current style. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what I should do. I have a few screenshots of my game here.
Game Pictures

I do have my first icon here, which is what I want to change to be more appealing.

Edit: Here’s a bit more info about my game

  • Genre : Platformer
  • Basic Story : You go to different parts in time collecting different “Time Studs” in order to stop a villain from destroying time.
  • I do have a early version of my game with a link, but it does not include my current camera view in these pictures, as I haven’t added them yet and I am planning to rethink if I should. However, it is public, so I do have a link Studs In Time (Cancelled. . . esh) - Roblox

Edit 2: Okay, I updated the picture, but I’m am still working on it a little bit(like the word “Time” and
the background) Here’s my first revamp

I would like a bit more feedback on this as well, so let me know on any more issues or things you think I should change.

Can you please tell us what your game is about?

On the first icon, you should definitely change it up a lot, the name for the game sounds appealing but the icon itself isn’t. You should change the colors of the letters in the icon to make it more visible to everyones eyes and to make it more noticable by people looking for your game. Change the “Stud’s” to not be so twisty just make it straight like the word “Time” is, which for the word “Time” in the logo you should change the colors of it just to make it more visible. It would also help to give us a game link if possible, and if you could tell us more about your game.

Errr, sorry I’m not sure what players will think about the 8bit style of the icon. In my opinion icons generally look better with pretty lighting.

Okay, I have a bit of info in my first edit

What do you mean by “pretty lighting”?

Alright, I worked on a bit of the stuff you said in the second edit, and I have a bit of info and a link on the first edit.

Pretty lighting is things such as having shadows, sun beams, and maybe some bloom.
