What should I name these locations and what should each place include?

So a few days ago I was creating a map and still am. I have where locations should be located and I can’t come up with names or location descriptions. So if you could, I would appreciate it, could you look at this map and look at the other picture for where the locations are and tell me where and what the location is named and what to put for it?

I think you should specify the game’s genre before naming the map and the locations.

I would say the names of the area will depend on what each area is about.

Storyline and discovery game
Aaaa

What do you mean?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The names must reflect the feeling and soul of the game
There are different biomes, which is cool, so you must link the atmosphere of the biome with the name.
As you said; “Storyline and Discovery Game” to this game, you must name the locations after making the content and story. (in my opinion)
like name the title after writing the book situation
IDK if it was.

for example, lets say there was a cave that had to do with the main storyline somewhere in the tundra area, then that place could be named “icy caves”, or “the cave of frost”.

It really depends on what exactly happens in the game at that area, you could name it under a geographical feature of the area (like a tall mountain, a cave, a pond, a big flat plain, a lake, a island), or you could name it under a/some character(s) that live or is there (a boss, some sort of animal, NPC, enemies). You could also name it under an event that happened there according to the game’s storyline (a war, a meteor strike, some sort of god of the game doing something there, the death of a important character, an ancient kingdom). Lastly, you could name it under some humanoid made structures (a city, some ruins, a stronghold, an altar, some sort of temple, a port)

You can come up with names like many people have said by just describing the location, maybe if you are perhaps looking for something more interesting you can use a Latin translation? For example, ‘Snow Mountain’ is ‘Nix Mons’ in Latin (using google translate). This sounds more unique and intriguing.

Or, if you aren’t looking for another language, you can just use synonyms of simpler words, let’s say ‘forest’ could become ‘woodland’, ‘mountain’ becomes ‘summit’. I also recommend you use alliteration too, and just random names to call the place. For example, ‘Walker’s Woodlands’, sounds interesting to me, as does ‘Peyton Summit’ for a mountain.

Good luck with your development  :+1:
